Overview of Traction
Contraindications
4MinuteBack exists to make your life better, like it did
mine. After decades, I decided to find the solution to my
own backpain. I had ignored the discomfort, thinking this
was simply my life. Unfortunately, there was no good
solution available. Undeterred, I developed and patented
my own solution, stopping the decades-long lingering back
pain in 4 days. It was amazing and liberating. Realize, you
may not have the same results, but I hope you do.
4MinuteBack is uniquely designed to allow you to
customize stretch and traction sessions from the
convenience of your own home or while traveling. Until
now the best traction devices were prohibitively expensive
and available only in a doctor’s office, required excessive
force for activation, or required a significant increase in
cranial blood pressure to be effective. The 4MB solves all of
these problems, also allowing portability so you can take it
with you.
Support is placed under the arms after positioning the
straps. A digital scale measures how much weight is taken
off the users back. The recommended force for a stretch is
usually around 35lbs for an average sized adult. Some users
apply 60-70lbs of stretch, which is often enough to begin
separating vertebrae, adding a spinal decompression
component. It is important to consult your physician if you
have prior history of back, shoulder, or arm injuries that
may be aggravated by the 4MinuteBack. This device may be
used with continuous or intermittent force. The
recommended use time is 4 minutes per session, although
The 4MinuteBack is designed to hang over a standard door.
The wooden wedge is placed under the door to maintain
door integrity.
1. Open box and lay 4MinuteBack flat on the ground
2. Straighten any twisted straps
3. Insert the loose aluminum bar into the plastic
connector
4. Twist the plastic connector to tighten
5. Be sure straps are untwisted
6. Open black case in back of body piece and insert
batteries (may be included)
7. Close case
8. Your 4MinuteBack is now ready for use.
You may also find a good demonstration video online
1. Standing on the side of the door that opens toward
you, place strap with neoprene pad over top of door
and close the door.
2. Press ON button on right side of unit.
3. Gently pull down on top strap to remove slack.
4. Place wooden support wedge under the door.
5. Place chair in front of 4MinuteBack and sit with arms
parallel to ground.
6. Set 4MinuteBack arm strap height slightly above the
parallel arm position in Step Above (#10)
7. Place arms through straps, keeping straps as close to
armpits as possible
8. Gently sit down. Begin with measurement of 20lbs,
keeping straps near arm pits. Relax into it. You may
want to adjust your position by leaning.
9. Once you get the hang of it, you may want to
increase the stretch to 35lbs. This will gently stretch
the long muscles of your back and neck. The readout
is showing the amount of weight being lifted fro
10. Advancing to 60lbs or more will actively separate
vertebrae in most people, creating a negative
pressure on the vertebral discs and accelerating disc
rehydration. Only do this if you are feeling
comfortable with lower force levels.
11. Discontinue use if you feel any shoulder or other
pain. Consult your physician as needed.
Precautionary Instructions

operating instructions. Know the limitations and hazards
associated with using this device
-This device should be routinely checked before each use to

-If you have difficulty operating your 4MB after carefully
reviewing the operating guide, contact 4MB.
-Should any cord or strap fray, discontinue 4MB use.
Your 4MB traction device can provide static, intermittent,
and cyclic distraction forces to relieve structural back
issues.
-Progressive Traction- achieved by adjusting arm sling
position every 60 seconds, moving sling away from elbows.
-Regressive Traction- achieved by adjusting arm sling
position every 60 seconds, moving sling closer to elbows.
Static Traction- refers to a constant force delivery
Intermittent Traction- refers to traction alternatively being
applied and then discontinued
Cyclic Traction- refers to repeated episodes of progressive
and regressive phases of traction.
